On June 11, 2018 the world lost a sweet, kind, precious man. It is with deep sadness that the Kirwan family announces the passing of John James (Jim) Kirwan (86 years) of Garson, Ontario who we are sure went straight to heaven. Jim was born in Falconbridge, Ontario on December 18th 1931. He worked at Falconbridge Nickel Mines as an electrician for 47 years. Jim married Edith (Edee) Kirwan on September 12, 1953 and were married until the sad passing of Edith in 2013. Throughout his life Jim was passionate about the outdoors, loved fishing, and carving wood. He won awards for his wood bird carvings that the family beautifully displays at home. He loved making wood stools which he generously gave away to his many friends in his community. Jim will be cherished and remembered with love forever by his daughters Lori (Alex) and Angie (Rob), sons Tony, Bart (Leslie), grandchildren Tanya (Craig), Casey and Morgan. Sadly missed by his brother and sister in law Guy and Lily Bergeron and close friend Sandra Ransom. He is preceded in death by his mother Jeanne and father Edward Kirwan. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St, Sudbury Ontario. (Friends may visit Friday, June 15th from 6-9pm). Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Garson. Saturday June 16th at 10am. Interment of ashes will take place after mass on Saturday at St. John’s Cemetery, Garson with a lunch to follow at the church. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
