Tanya Castonguay, 47 years passed away from her battle with cancer on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, ON. Tanya always had a smile for everyone. She first met her husband John Castonguay when she was sixteen and from that moment on the two of them taught all those who knew them the meaning of true love. Married for thirty years their hands were never out of reach from one another. On the dance floor their joy and love for one another touched everyone in the room. Together they raised two boys Zach and Josh and as a family they traveled, hunted and fished their way through countless adventures. Tanya was an old soul that made being a mom look easy. Her passion and love for her boys was the very heart of her life. A life she fought for with every breath. She was taken from us way too soon and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Tanya is survived by her husband and best friend John Castonguay. Loving and devoted mother of Zachary Castonguay (partner Michelle Lawrence) and Joshua Castonguay (partner Kieryn Maloney). Born in Sudbury, she was the daughter of George and Joanne (née Leblanc) Leduc and cherished granddaughter of Ernestine Leduc. Dear sister of Marcia Law (Guy), Colleen Morin (Joe) and Trevor Leduc (Jamie). She will be sadly missed by several brothers and sisters in law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends as well as by her feline companion Jinx. Tanya had a great appreciation for her car that she appropriately named “Black Beauty”. We would like to thank everyone who supported Tanya and her family with a special thanks to Princess Auto where Tanya worked and John’s place of employment Vale. A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Tanya’s life will take place at the Club 50, 25 Main Street W., Chelmsford on Friday, June 15, 2018 where family and friends are welcome to gather from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made directly to the Northern Cancer Foundation – Breanna Baxter Pediatric Cancer Fund.
