Robidoux, Maurice

It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Son of the late Albert and Geneviève (née Lemieux) Robidoux. Beloved husband of 63 years to Viviane (née Laflèche) Robidoux. Loving father of Carmen Robidoux (Gerry), Grégoire Robidoux (Pauline), Francis Robidoux (Victoria) and Perry Robidoux (Wendy). Cherished grandfather of Michelle Bascom (Ron), Joël (Holly), Hudson and Katelan. Great-grandfather of Aayden, Daya and Camilla. Dear brother of Charles (Thérèse), Rita Vaillancourt (Frank), Lina May Gray (Don), Norma Larose (Gilles), Richard (Dorthy), Patricia Gagnier (Pierre). Predeceased by his sisters Della Trottier (late Don), Lorraine Bobbie and by his brother Rolland (late Anita). Maurice began his career in 1952 as a firefighter, was promoted as a Captain for the city of Sudbury and then became a Fire Chief for 22 years at the Valley East Fire Department. He will be remembered for starting the full time fire department in Valley East in 1969. Maurice retired after 39 years of service. In keeping with Maurice’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private ashes burial for the family will be held in Sturgeon Falls at a later date.
