Beloved husband of Dorothy (née Ham) of Sheguindah, Manitoulin Island. Loving father of Marianne Bisson-Lafreniere (Peter) of Hanmer, Holly Janakowski (Nick Mancini) of Skead and Tom Bisson (Grace) of Winnipeg. Cherished grandfather of Lindsay, Laura, Luke, Alex, Breanna, Jordan, Cathryn, Tyler, Megan, Kassandra and Yunisse. Dear brother of Vic (Pat) of Ottawa, Yvonne Larose (Alphonse) of Sudbury, Claude (Marielle) of Capreol, Rita Sinclair (Tom) of Manitoulin Island, Leo (Diane) of Sudbury and Diane Bisson (predeceased). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Herman was born in Sudbury on November 3rd, 1943 to parents Alexina and Hormidas, both predeceased. He raised his own family in Levack before returning to Sudbury. Herman started his mining career at INCO where he worked for 5 years and then moved over to Falconbridge Mines where he was employed from 1969 to 1999. About 7 years ago, he and his wife became residents of Manitoulin Island. Some of his favourite pastimes included watching t.v. (especially The History Channel) and camping. Herman also found great joy in spending many winters in Florida. He will be remembered as a hard working and dynamic individual who enjoyed helping others and always had a project on the go. Herman was always very happy in life, had a good sense of humour and never talked badly about anyone. That's what made him so special. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. Special thank-you to Dr. Anderson and the ICU staff at HSN for their remarkable compassion and care. A celebration of Herman's life will take place at the Lockerby Legion on Long Lake Road in Sudbury on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 from 1 pm to 3 pm (prayers at 2). Donations (by cheque) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Herman's memory, would be greatly appreciated. Cremation arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North. (705) 470-7070
