In loving memory of Joseph Florian Bourget, 77 years, who passed away at home on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018. Beloved husband of Sylvia (Kinnonen) Bourget predeceased. Loving father of Bruce (wife Jen) of Sudbury and Kevin (wife Janis) of Edmonton. Cherished Grandfather (Papa) of Ben, Delaney, Ella, Mya and Bree. Dear son of Horace and Eva Bourget predeceased. Brother of Carmen Turgeon of Oshawa and also Viola, Horace, Neil, Aurel and Ernie all predeceased. Truly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in 1941, a lifelong resident of Minnow Lake. Florian (Flo) was a well known drummer in the 50's and 60's entertaining at many local weddings and dances with Don Luciw and his band. He was a Senior Analyst with the Occupational Health and Safety department at INCO before retiring in 1998 with 30 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping, wood working, and was a devoted Montreal Canadians fan. He never stopped playing his Conga drums and enjoyed the music of many countries. Known for a great sense of humour and quick wit, he could always produce great one liners. He was always ready to help a friend. For all of his talents and interests his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Affectionately nicknamed as Papa Dude, he was a very proud, supportive and loving grandfather. The family would like to thank the staff of Health Sciences North and the Northeast Cancer Centre for their professional care and support. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Northeast Cancer Centre. Funeral Service in the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent St., at Hazel St. Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at 5pm Cremation with interment in the family plot at Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated. Friends may call after 2pm Sunday.
