In loving memory of Valentina (Violet) Mazzuca (nee D’Appolonia), 83 years, peacefully and courageously passed away on May 31, 2018 at Pioneer Manor with her loving family at her bedside. Violet lived her entire life in Capreol, Ontario. She married her high school sweetheart Valentino Mazzuca in 1953, (predeceased 2014). Together they owned and operated a number of businesses including a supermarket in Capreol for over 45 years. She was an extremely successful business woman. Violet was the daughter of Luigi and Tarcisia (both predeceased). Loving sister of Lenore, Peter, and Anthony (all predeceased), Yvette Lane of Sudbury (husband Gilles predeceased), Mary of Burlington, and Bert of Capreol. Sadly missed by nieces Louise, Mary Ann, Nancy, and Suzanne and their families as well as her extended Mazzuca family including sister’s in-law, nieces and nephews. Violet was a woman of strong faith in the Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and later the Catholic Women’s League. She was very active each year in the “Italian Table” of Our Lady of Peace parish annual bazzare. In her earlier years she was a very talented and creative artist and interior designer. In memory of a special aunt Violet was regarded as someone who took time to care, listen and understand, Whose heart was as warm as her smile, Who was always eager to lend a hand, Someone to love, honour and admire.
