It is with an aching heart that the family announces the passing of Richard Lefebvre, age 74 years, at Health Sciences North, Friday May 18th, 2018 after an extended illness. He passed peacefully and in comfort with Anita, the love of his life, holding his hand, never having lost his wonderful sense of humour. Richard Jean-Baptiste Lefebvre was born in Sudbury, the son of Michel and Marie-Jeanne (nee Sabourin) Lefebvre predeceased. Beloved brother of Theresa Anthony (Lawrence), Rene (Leona) both predeceased, Jean Paul (predeceased) (Pauline), Mariette Robineau (Gaetan predeceased), Sylvia Lacroix (Emile) both predeceased, Edmond (predeceased) and Bernard (predeceased). Richard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anita (nee McChesney), and sons Todd (Kelli), Kevin (Nicole), and was a loving Poppa of four grandchildren, Abigail, Sophie, Andre and Margot. He was a 25-year veteran of the Sudbury Regional Police Service and an avid model railroader and train enthusiast. He was previously an active member of the Lions Clubs of Copper Cliff, Garson and Minnow Lake. He will be dearly missed by friends and family alike. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at both Health Sciences North, and St. Joseph’s Continuing Care, for all of the wonderful care and overwhelming support they provided. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 4-8pm Thursday and after 10:30am Friday). Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Friday, May 25th, 2018 at 11:30am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make donations to the Northern Ontario Railway Museum and Heritage Centre in Capreol, normhc.ca.
