Vendramin, M. Donna

Donna’s work here is done. It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Vendramin announce the passing of our special friend and sister. She is now happily reunited with her Mom and Dad, Aune and Gino Vendramin (predeceased 2002 and 2004). Donna will be especially missed by her special friend Don Thibert, loving sisters Cathy and Lorie (Pat Lemieux), and brothers Peter and Joe, and nieces and nephew Tayler, Courtney (Ryan), Chelsea and Brandon, along with many close friends and colleagues. Donna leaves behind a rich legacy of a life devoted to community service and fighting for social change, always advocating for those less fortunate. Donna was a true champion of the underdog. Her genuine kindness and love for people spilled over into all aspects of her life. Professionally, in her 25 years with the Federal Government, she tirelessly assisted with funding and promoting multi-cultural diverse groups and projects all over Northern Ontario. She also volunteered on numerous task forces and social initiatives that bettered the lives of so many people within the community. Donna’s best days were spent at the family camp on Lohi Lake surrounded by family and friends, with plenty of good food and music, having stimulating conversations around the picnic table, and petting her beloved “borrowed pet” Bubba. Donna will be remembered as a fun-loving, tenacious and fiercely loyal friend to many. She was our biggest cheerleader and champion. In addition to the undying support she gave to her friends and family, Donna also took the time to show real care and concern for complete strangers in times of need all throughout her life. Donna was a beautiful tender-heart. May her special and bright light never be diminished. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting you honour Donna’s legacy through donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Northern Cancer Foundation. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held in the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury Tuesday, April 24th, 2018 at 2pm (Friends may gather after 1pm Tuesday). Cremation with entombment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum.
