In Loving Memory of Lucile Amélie Balez (née Bossé) who passed away at 93, April 12th, 2018, peacefully at home, with family by her side. Lucile was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan in 1924 to Honoré and Rose-Anna Bossé. With her family, she moved to Chelmsford in 1933, and between there and Lockerby, she spent the majority of her life. In 2012, she relocated to Ottawa at the age 87, to live out her twilight years. She was the loving wife of Léon (deceased 1999), for 57 years and the devoted Mother to: Lionel (Mary Ellen), Lorraine Mazzuchin (predeceased) (Alfio), René (predeceased), André (Adeline) (predeceased), fiancée Janie, Jacques (Llynne) and Paul (Charlotte). She will be fondly remembered by Nila, Liz and Kelli, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. She was the beloved Mémère to her grandchildren: Gary (Leanne), JoAnn (Chris), Melanie (Mike), RoseAnna, Mathieu (Fiona), Jennifer (Gianni), Nicole, Danielle, Alex and to her great-grandchildren: Angela, Meredith, Troy, John, Eva, Leo, Miles, Marcus, Felix, Theodore, Mateo, Hugo and Adelina. Coming from a family of 10 girls and 2 boys, she is survived by: Armand (Eileen), Florence Vaillancourt (Emile), Reina Chaput (Michel), Dolores Groulx (Jacques) and Leona Crowder (Dan) and predeceased by: Romuald (Jeanette), Yvette Frohlick (Adam), Rita Lachance (Ligouri), Fern, Alicia Robinson (Willard) and Huguette Loker (Loren). Lucile took great pride in her large family, whom she loved dearly and nothing brought her more joy than to have a newborn in her arms. A devout Catholic, her faith in God brought her tremendous strength and peace. She will always be remembered for her compassion, her generosity, her nurturing manner and her ability to bring people together to share a home-cooked meal. This may be her greatest legacy. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and nurses from Carefor Health and Champlain LHIN, with a special Thank You to Nurse Jennifer and Dr. Lisa Cross. Your care and friendship made her wish of remaining in her home possible. Donations in her memory to: “Sleeping Children Around the World” – her favourite charity or to a charity of your choice, would be appreciated. A celebration of her life will follow this summer.
