Penton, P.M. Carole (Hortness)

Wife of the late Laurence Penton and survived by her loving daughter Jill and her son Scott (Donna). Predeceased by her son Keith (1969). Daughter of Ruben Hortness and Gilberte (Betty) Belanger both predeceased. Survived by her brothers Raymond Hortness and Eric Hortness (Doreen) and many loving nieces and nephews in Sudbury and out west. Survived by her adopted Penton family as well as many nephews and nieces out east. Carole was a registered nurse, graduating from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1962, worked at New Mount Sinai in T.O. and taught in the R.N.A program in Sudbury. She then worked as a nurse in Sudbury until her retirement in 2001. She was active in her community with her husband, helping to set up the Boy Scout Troup in Copper Cliff. Becoming a member of the Sudbury Voyageur Muzzleloading Assoc., they combined their love of travel with their love of history and made friends from coast to coast and the United States. Carole became a Member of the Lung Disease Support Group in 2008. The group helped her immensely through very rough spots over the years of dealing with her disease. “I Love You and Shall Miss You All”. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. A chapel service will follow at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite charity by cheque or online at www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
