October 25th, 1937- February 28th, 2018. After 3 battles with cancer over 4 decades Eric finally accepted his last “transfer” peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 and now resides forever with his maker. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Julie, daughter Erica (Scott) Allen, Step-Daughter Christina (Sean) Dempsey, 2 siblings, Gordon (Sue) & Heather (Capt. Henry) Marks. Also by three brother’s-in-law, 5 sister-in laws, 3 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his 1st wife, Dorothy (Blackmere), brother Richard (Marion), both parents Capt. Walter & Marion Crouse and brother-in-law Reinhart Hauguth (Debbie). Eric worked 38 years for the Royal Bank moving 12 times in 2 provinces with customer service always coming first with him. After retiring he was active in 2 Game & Fish Clubs and also a Director for the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters for many years. His enjoyed teasing & never could remember losing a euchre game to the ladies. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, curling & reading newspapers. He cheered for the Maple Leafs & Argonauts all his life however his family always came first. The family would like to send a special thank you to The Northeast Cancer Centre’s Dr. Noble & Dr. R. Singh and their nurses Megan & Janice respectively. At Eric’s request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s on the Hill United Church (1248 Lauzon Ave. Sudbury) on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. followed by fellowship and lunch downstairs in the church hall. Donations to St. Stephen’s on the Hill United Church, the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters, or the Northern Cancer Foundation Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
