It is with great sorrow the family of Edward Thurston announce his passing on February 27th, 2018 at the age of 95. Ted was a good husband, father, provider and partner. He enjoyed hunting and proudly displayed Ontario Big Game Hats. When he wasn’t hunting, he was fishing. There are scores of fish that succumbed to his lures. Ted also enjoyed growing roses. All summer long, his flowers and roses, he’d be showing off. For the last two years, Ted has been at Extendicare York where he was well taken care of. The family extends their gratitude to all the staff for their care of Ted in his final days. Ted leaves behind his wife of 64 years Helvi, his two sons Mark (Cheryl) and Ed (Mary Louise), grandchildren Stephen, David, Paul (Kaitlyn), Hannah (Matti), Daniel, Rebecca-Lynn and great granddaughter Olivia, his brothers John (Velma), Art (Marianne) and Albert (Sharon) and sisters Edna and Elizabeth (Jack). Predeceased by his brother Peter and his sisters Margaret and May. Ted will also be missed by numerous in laws and nieces and nephews. We look forward to meeting up with him in the Great Beyond someday. Funeral service will be held in the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street, Sudbury on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at 11:30am. Interment in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Bethel Baptist Church would be appreciated. (Friends may gather after 10am Friday)
