In loving memory of John Grenon, 53 years, Saturday February 24th, 2018 at Health Sciences North. John was a devoted family man and a proud and supportive father to his son, Zachary, who still resides at home. He also leaves behind his best friend and soulmate of 26 years, Carole (Ménard). Born on August 20th, 1964, John was the youngest of seven children born to Francis (predeceased) and Aline “Lynne” (Roy). Baby brother to Lorraine Dolan (Tom), Madeleine (predeceased), Ronald, Mike (Wendy), Francis jr “Tubby” (predeceased)(Rachel), and Paul (Allan). Dear son-in-law and friend of Leo Ménard (pepère) and Germaine (Beaulieu)(predeceased). Brother-in-law of Claude, Ronald (Claire), Albert (Jeanette), Diane Fournier (Roger) and Raymond (Michelle). John will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In his youth, John enjoyed playing basketball for his high school team, but as he grew older, he spent his downtime watching the History Channel and doing crossword puzzles. As his son’s biggest cheerleader, he always encouraged Zach to do whatever made him happy and celebrated Zach’s achievements proudly. While in the workforce, John worked 25 years at the Canada Revenue Agency here in Sudbury. John had a witty and unique sense of humour and loved a good debate. He was a gentleman with a big heart that always rooted for the underdog and helped others. At this time, John’s family wishes to thank everyone at Health Sciences North for everything they did for John. And to the angels that guided John during his journey; Nurse Jen & Dr. Mirkka and Nurse Renée & Dr. Caruso, we cannot thank you enough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s memory to: The Alzheimer’s Society in Sudbury. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Jean de Brébeuf Church, 26 Kathleen St., Sudbury on Monday, March 5th, 2018 at 10:30am. (Friends may gather at the church after 10am Monday). Following the funeral mass, please join the family for a celebration of John’s life in the downstairs hall of St. Jean de Brébeuf Church. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
