It is with great sorrow that the family announces Gordon’s passing at the age of 78. Formerly of Lively, he passed away at Pioneer Manor in Sudbury on Sunday, February 11th, 2018. Gordon was born on August 6th, 1939 in Alberton, Prince Edward Island to Ethel and Vernon Campbell. On November 6th, 1965 he married the love of his life, Gail Campbell (Budge), who currently resides at Pioneer Manor. He will be missed by his loving son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Krista Campbell of Espanola. He will always be fondly remembered by his one and only grandson and sidekick, Carson Campbell of Espanola. Survived by his loving sister, Lorraine Beck (George) of Montague, Prince Edward Island. Predeceased by his brother, Garnet Campbell (Shirley) of Barrie. Survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends, who all knew Gordon as the life of any party. He truly looked forward to any get-togethers and loved his music. Physical activity was very important to him, and he skated for many years at the Walden Arena’s Senior program, rarely missing a day. Gordon was a member of the Sudbury Shrine Club, and a member of the Sudbury Masonic Lodge where he was very proud to attain his 33rd degree. He was also employed at Falconbridge Limited, with 31 years of service, and retired in 1994.  The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Pioneer Manor, for their attentive and loving care of Gordon. A special thank you to the community members, relatives, friends, and neighbours involved in his care as he struggled with the progression of Alzheimer’s.  Donations to the Sudbury Shriners for children with physical disabilities or the Espanola Nursing Home Therapeutic Park would be appreciated. Memorial Service to be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
