In Loving Memory of Morris Walter Pidzamecky 75 years Peacefully, Saturday morning February 10th, 2018 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury Lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Sue (Huot), and his daughter Laurie. Morris would like to thank Sue for all her love and support throughout the years, especially within the last few months. Morris was extremely proud of his daughter, Laurie, and her accomplishments at Marymount College and her work in the SPD department of St. Joseph's Health Care Centre. He was proud when she graduated from Cambrian and Humber Colleges as a Legal Assistant and her career at a Toronto law firm. He loved being able to say ""we have a good kid"". Predeceased by his parents Walter and Theodosia. Dear brother of Oryst (Marika) of Guelph, Ontario, nieces and nephew Daria, Olena (husband Rodrigo, and their children Tristan and Melanya), Lesya and Stefan. Morris frequently thought back to all the wonderful family gatherings and Ukrainian holidays celebrated at his mom's house - who he referred to as the ""best cook ever"". Morris wanted to send a special thank you to the Hassetts, Roseboroughs, Poiriers and Huots. In particular, he sends his gratitude and appreciation to his sisters-in-law, Muriel and Line, for being there for Sue. Some of his best memories are of the summers spent at Grundy Lake, the family reunions and Christmas dinners - he was especially fond of the care packages of leftovers. Morris was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers' Union Local 504 (SMWIA) for 24 years. He then went on to partner Nor-Vent Sheetmetal for 3 years. In 1989, he began working at the Sudbury General Hospital (later, St. Joseph's Health Care Centre), first in the maintenance department and then housekeeping, where he remained until his retirement in 2005. In 1995, Morris received the Sisters of St. Joseph's Award of Excellence. His nomination was endorsed by the staff members of the psychiatric unit. They felt he deserved to be recognized for the pride taken in doing his job well, for his positive attitude and his helpfulness and willingness to be part of the team on psychiatry. While Morris enjoyed his retirement, he missed all the friends he made throughout the years at St. Joseph's. A special thank you to Jamie Little for all the garage visits and for keeping Moe in the ""loop"". Morris was grateful for having the best neighbours anyone could hope for. Thank you to the Dominicks and Decatas. Morris, Sue and Laurie would like to send a special thank you to Dr. R. Sawkiw. They would also like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Northeastern Cancer Centre. In particular, Dr. A. Pearce, Dr. S. Young and their teams, as well as to Dr. D. Ewing-Bui. A special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Health Sciences North, Oncology and Palliative Care Units. As per Morris' wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory to Northeastern Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
