In Loving Memory of Rosemary Helen Anne Johnston 84 years Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at her residence. Beloved mother of Keith predeceased, Karen Labreche (Don), Kirby (Kim), and Kelly Lamb (Bryan). Cherished grandmother of Chad Labreche (Melissa), Dean Labreche, Arian Platthey (Trevor), Josh Lamb (Tabitha), Melanie Jones (Tyler), and precious great grandchildren Olivia, Layla, Sophia, Elizabeth, David, Emma, Brooklyn, and Ava. Dear daughter of Charles and Grace (Taylor) Johnston both predeceased. Dear sister of William (Bill) Johnston predeceased (wife and precious sister in law Jessie), Florence Erickson (Wilfred), Jean Janakowski (Stanley), and predeceased by Margaret Redden. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and her canine buddy Winnie, and lovingly remembered by relatives in Scotland. After retiring from her Therapist position at Island Lodge in Ottawa, Rosemary returned to her childhood home of Sudbury where she was a proud member of Grace United Church (formerly known as St. Luke’s United) in Minnow Lake. She was an active member of the Oddfellow and Rebekah organizations , and was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76. A very committed Special Olympics coach, she was inducted into the Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame for her dedicated coaching in Track and Field. Rosemary enjoyed having fun with her Red Hat sisters and her wanderlust spirit loved to travel and explore. At Rosemary’s request there will be no visitation or service. A committal service will be held in the spring in the family plot at the Park Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation or Grace United Church would be appreciated.
