Mrs. Vijaya {“Vicky”} Bhanu Desjardins (née Kudari) formerly of Bathurst, NB, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2018 in Sudbury, Ontario at the age of 68. Vijaya was born on February 28, 1949 in Guntur, India. She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University (1978). A devout Catholic, Vijaya never shied away from working with community organizations, and holding many different jobs as a teacher, nurse, day-care operator, polling officer and most recently as a Pharmacy Assistant at Wal-Mart. She had a passion for watching and reading all things about the Royal Family, attending late-night singing parties and learning new songs on her electric keyboard. Vijaya true love was spending time with her family. She spent many nights with her only-son playing games or watching movies. More recently, she proudly welcomed a daughter-in-law and was overjoyed with the birth of her 2 grandchildren, who she said were a completion to her life’s goals. Vijaya is survived by her son Ajai Kudari; daughter-in-law Navreet; her grandchildren, Amira and Jashan; her brothers and sisters, Augustine, Paul, Suseela, Ravi, Nirmala, Surekha; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Roger, sister, Theresa and parents, Devasahayam and Josephine Kudari. Visitation is scheduled on Friday, January 19th, 2018 from 2 PM – 5 PM and 7 PM – 9 PM with parish prayers at 7:15 PM Friday at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, January 20th, 2018 starting at 10 AM at St Andrew the Apostle Church, 1250 Barrydowne Rd., Sudbury with a light reception to follow. Rev. Sam D’Angelo will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vijaya’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to 218 Braemore Cres., Garson ON, P3L 0A1.
