The family announces with sorrow the passing of Clinton ""Red"" Haggart, 83 years, at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Loving husband of Carmel (nee Gosselin) for 59 great years. Treasured father to Debbie (John) from Latchford, Clint (Line) of Capreol, Rodney (predeceased 1986), Yvonne (Randy) of South Carolina and was like a father to Rolly. Cherished grandfather of Jessica (Chris) from Englehart, Clinton III from Sudbury and great grandfather to Hannah, Lucas, Breann, Keynan and Kamia. Step grandfather to 11 and step great grandfather of 22 children. Born in Skead to the late Gordon and Filva (nee Burton) Haggart. Dear brother of Shirlene, Don (Sheila), Kirk (Loretta), predeceased by Pansy, Phyllis, Pauline and Peter. He was born in 1934 and lived on Skead Road for many, many years. He met the love of his life, Carmel, in Coniston (1957) and they married in October of 1958. He shared many hours in the kitchen with Carmel preparing great big gourmet meals. Red was known for his homemade beans. He was a proud Local 598 Mine Mill member and worked for Falconbridge Ltd. for 34 years as a mine hoist mechanic. He enjoyed 32 years of retirement and loved camping with Carmel at Sand Bay Camps. He enjoyed the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs (Go Leafs Go!!). His biggest love was his family. We are proud to say, ""Thank You"" for being a great husband and a great Dad! A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St Jean de Brébeuf Church, 26 Kathleen St., Sudbury, on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Clinton’s Life in the Church Hall.
