Teeple, H. Dwight

This is the story of Dwight Harold Teeple. Dwight was a wonderful man who was highly respected, full of integrity and loved. He is deeply missed and he will always be cherished. Dwight’s story starts on July 23rd, 1946, the oldest child to Clarence and Dorcues Teeple. Dwight was born in Kirkland Lake, ON where he would spend his childhood, grow up and meet the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Bonnie (Mack) that he married on April 12th, 1969. Together they built a strong and wonderful marriage together that was based on trust, friendship and their lasting love for each other. Dwight and Bonnie moved to Sudbury in 1971, when he became a police officer with the Copper Cliff Police Department. In 1973, when the city amalgamated he became an officer with the Sudbury Regional Police and served as an officer for the next 31 years, mainly as the Sergeant in charge of the Drug Unit. He loved his job and was very proud of his duty to serve and protect. Dwight was extremely loving and proud of his two children, his daughter Kimberley and his son Sean. He instilled in both of them life long lessons and raised them with pride. He was also proud of his son-in-law Andre whom he considered to be one of his best friends. Dwight’s grandchildren were his heart and joy. There is no denying that Evan and Hayley brought so much love and laughter to his life. He was the world’s greatest Pa and he will continue to live on with both of them in the memories they have of him. Loved ones that will miss Dwight until they meet again are his brother and best friend Terry (Linda), his sister Cheryl (Barry Selwood) and his brother Rick (Susan). He will also be missed by his father-in-law Clifford (Cynthia) and his mother-in-law Ruth (predeceased). His sisters-in-law Rose (Noel) and Beverley (Denis), as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be deeply missed by his closest friends Arden, Walter, Alex and Bob as well as all of his other garage buddies that would meet every Friday afternoon to discuss and solve the problems in the world. He loved spending time at the family camp on Lake Nipissing in Cache Bay. It was a special place for him and Bonnie. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and he was a “Master Putterer”. A special thank you to all of the people who have provided care and support to Dwight as he fought his illness, including Dr. Crichton, Dr. Goodale, Dr. Olsen, Dr. Mitchell, and his nurse Christina at Bayshore, as well as the staff from Maison McCulloch Hospice who cared for Dwight in his final day. And so the story goes on until we see our dear Husband, our Dad and our Pa again. We love you and we miss you. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, January 21st from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76, 1553 Weller Street, Sudbury.
