In Loving Memory of Carroll George Black 72 Years who passed away at Health Sciences North on January 5th, 2018. Cherished husband of Margaret Ann Black (nee Jacques) (predeceased 2011). Beloved father of Carolyn Black, of Sudbury; Larry Black (wife Nathalie), of Bracebridge; and John Black (wife Mary-Lynn), of Sudbury. Treasured grandfather of Cortis, Sebastien, Olivia and Lucas. Dear son of Cortis (predeceased) and Helen (nee Corrigan, Gould) Black and stepfather Keith Gould (predeceased). Born in Shawville Quebec, Carroll grew up in the Ottawa Valley near the small town of Cobden, Ontario. He later graduated as an Engineering Technologist from the Institute of Technology. His first employment was with Babcock & Wilcox in Kitchener/Cambridge area. He moved to Sudbury and with his partner Bill started Mister Transmission on the Kingsway. He had a passion for building which led him to start his own Contracting Company years later. He enjoyed spending his time camping, fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He loved music and played the Banjo. Later in life he developed a skill for playing poker and had many successful runs at tournaments in Orillia. Carroll was a true outdoorsman who spent countless hours in his youth and adulthood chasing speckled trout up and down streams and lakes all over Northern Ontario. This passion he passed on to his children, grandchildren and friends. Carroll was known to his friends and family as a Patient, Caring and Strong individual. Memorial Visitation at The Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch St. Sudbury Saturday January 13th, 2018 (Friends May Call After 9am) Memorial Service in The RJ Barnard Chapel On Saturday January 13th, 2018 at 11:30am Followed by a reception upstairs.
