Delaire, M. Anita (Lafleur)

Peacefully on January 3, 2018 at the tender age of 97, Anita Marguerite Delaire (née Lafleur) passed on, surrounded by serenity and love at the home of her daughter Sue and husband John, in Chelmsford, Ontario. Anita was predeceased by her husband Laurent Delaire and was a loving mother to her 5 children, Guy, Marc (Stephanie Crapper), Gilles (Darla Delaurier Delaire), Suzanne (John Gibbons) and Daniel. She was the eldest daughter of Bertha (Joli) and Henri Lafleur, both predeceased. Loving sister to Paul-Emile Graton, Euclide (Béatrice), Lucienne (Maurice) Maisonneuve (all predeceased), Germaine SCO, Odilon (Thérèse) both predeceased, Monique (Achille) Leclair, Odile (Gerard) Dallaire, Philippe (Thérèse predeceased). Cherished grandmother to Michelle, Kym (Alain), Elizabeth (David), Philippe, Craig (Roxanne) and Lari (Marc). An adoring great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren who always brought a smile to her eyes. Aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, with special mention to Carol (Gilles) and Loïc. Anita was an incredible woman who loved life and had great compassion for everyone. She worked hard her entire life and treasured every moment of her journey. She loved “camp” and all that it encompassed, fishing, blueberry picking, knitting, cooking, puzzles, daisies and walks. Anita found great pleasure in watching her family and friends enjoy themselves at camp, especially on the beach. She would sit on her deck and admire the lake while the hummingbirds and chickadees fed. A true legacy. To us, she was a teacher, an advisor, a mentor, a friend, a constant support and always a mom. There will be a Celebration of Life, later this summer at camp, followed by an interment of ashes ceremony in her home town of L’Orignal, Ontario. Dates to be announced.
