LUOMA - Thomas Allan (Tom) passed away November 7, 2017 Born January 19, 1948 in Sudbury, Ontario to Edwin and Valerie.Tom leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years Francine (nee Dufresne) and will be missed by his 3 children, Marcy (Jeff Bastien), Jennifer (Joel Schaubel) and Allan (Connie Campbell). His grandchildren Sophie, Charlotte, Jonathan, Jason, Buddy and Molly are feeling the loss immensely as is his brother Andy (Mary) and many nieces and nephews. Tom grew up and lived most of his life in Levack. He was an avid skier and outdoorsman. He worked for INCO for 34 years, where he was actively involved as a member of several award winning mine rescue teams. He furthered his community involvement as a volunteer firefighter with the Levack Fire Department and as a member of the Levack-Onaping Legion Branch 503. After raising their family in Levack, Tom and Francine retired to their spot on Onaping Lake.They filled their days with boating, fishing, golfing and spending time with friends and family. Winters were spent in the warm Florida sunshine where they golfed and made a lot of friends. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and nurses who cared for Tom during his battle with cancer. Of particular note, thank you to Francine’s sisters and their husbands, Ida and Clem Belanger, Pauline and Keith Benoit and Irene and Rick Allair for their never ending support and love. Cremation has already taken place at the Cooperative Crematorium. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held in the spring. Donations in Tom’s memory can be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.
