June 12, 1947 – November 2, 2017 In loving memory of Gary Miller who passed away on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Joan (predeceased) of Lively. Loving father of Chris (Julie) and Sarah Ianni (Andy). Cherished grandfather of Ava, Emilie, Isabel, Sophie and Alexie. Son of Roy (predeceased) and Jeanne Miller of Sudbury. Dear brother of Lenard (Jocelyne), Robert (Mary), James (Jill), Donald (Nicole), and Timothy. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and the Jacobson family. Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his time with his family, and at the camp at the French River. He loved building and fixing the camp, as well as fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Gary was an avid and accomplished curler and golfer where he developed many friendships over the years. He also spent many years coaching his children in ringette, hockey, and baseball, and won 2 national championships as a head coach in ringette. Gary was retired from Vale where he worked for over 30 years and took pride in a job well done. Gary`s wife Joan and his family were most important to him, and his five granddaughters had a special place in his heart. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Northeast Cancer Centre for the excellent care and understanding he received. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch Street, Sudbury) Monday, November 6th, 2017 at 11:30 am Visitation at Jackson & Barnard on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:30 am Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with interment alongside his wife in Waters Cemetery on Tuesday, November the 7th, 2017. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation - Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
