Gemmell, Mary Lou (Allen)

In loving memory of Mary Lou Gemmell (nee Allen) who passed away on Thursday, October 26th, 2017 at Health Sciences North at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Bill Gemmell of Sudbury. Loving mother of Sandra Gemmell (Doug), Christine Gemmell predeceased and Jo-Anne Peacock (Rick). Cherished grandmother of Mike, Allie, Patrick, Nathan, Delaney, Nick, Riley, Chloe, Mia and Josée and many great grandchildren. Her grand babies were the love of her life. Dear sister of Harriet Allen and Frances Bate. Predeceased by her siblings Joan Reardon, Margaret McMullin, Donny Allen and Pauline Marr. Mary Lou worked for many years at Levine’s Women’s Wear. She was a faithful member of St. Christopher’s Church in Whitefish. In her spare time, she loved to golf or head out to the slots at Sudbury Downs. Mary Lou always had a smile to share or a hug to give and a gentle soul who leaves a rich legacy of love and commitment to her family. A memorial service will be held in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 at 3pm. Friends may gather after 2pm Wednesday. If desired, a donation in her memory can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation or St. Christopher’s Church.
