Keast, Jillian It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Jillian Keast, 25, of Sudbury, on Friday, September 1, 2017. Jillian, or Jill, as she often preferred, was born and raised in Sudbury. She attended Marymount Academy and Lockerby Composite High School, and was working on her BSc in Psychology at Laurentian University. Since early childhood, she had spunk and never backed away from learning new skills such as downhill skiing at a little over 2 years of age and water skiing at 5. Her fearlessness allowed her to challenge treacherous slopes at incredible speeds for the two years she was a member of the Ontario Development Ski Team based in Collingwood. Jillian was passionate and brought this to most of her endeavors. Never was this more evident, than when one looked at her relationship with her daughter, Roxanna Morris, now 8 years of age. Roxanna was the love of Jillian’s life and her true driving force. In everything she did, Jill was thinking of Roxanna and the long and happy life they would have together. Besides Roxanna, Jillian leaves behind her father, John Keast, her mother, Lesley Mitchell and her brother, Andrew Keast. She will also be missed by aunts and uncles, Ann and Alex Crane of Leamington and Joy and Stan Pokrywa of Lavant, as well as cousins Jason and Justin Crane, Tabitha, Jeffery and Becky Keast, Lucas and Mathew (Chewy) Pokrywa, Mitchell Marshall and Samantha De-Abreu, and their families. Also important in Jill’s life were those who passed away before her, some of whom she knew well, but all making an impact on her. These include her grandparents, Peggy and John Keast, Maureen and Harold Mitchell, as well as uncles Michael and Jim Keast. There will be a Celebration of Jillian’s Life at St Andrew’s Place, 111 Larch St., Sudbury on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 1 p.m. to be followed by a gathering in the Activity Hall. In lieu of flowers, you may think of Jillian’s favourite charities, The Alzheimer’s Society of Sudbury and the SPCA or a charity of your choice.
