Harrison, Gérald

The family announces with great sorrow his passing in the presence of family and friends in Sudbury, Friday, August 25th, 2017 at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband of 53 years to Adrienne (Doiron) Harrison of Val Caron. Son of the late Antoine and late Mildred (Bernier) Harrison. Loving father of Pierre Harrison (Susanne Leffler) of Wanup, Suzanne Harrison of Val Caron, Lorianne Sepp (Jeff) of Mount Albert. Cherished “Pépère” of Maya and Ava Sepp and Tom Harrison as well as other young friends who called him “Pépère” or “Oncle”. Dear brother-in-law of Edith Gionet (Wilfred), Edouard Doiron, Romeo Doiron, Irene Doiron (Pierre Leyraud), Albertine Duguay (Pierre) and Aldoria Doiron (Lynda). Predeceased by sisters-in-law Léona Doiron and Jeannine Gionet (Valmond). He will also be lovingly remembered by his godchildren Maurice Doiron and Nicole Glassford and many cousins. Gérald was manager in different departments at A&P on Pine Street in Sudbury and finally Produce Manager at the A&P Store in Espanola until his retirement in 2000. He continued working part time at Desjardins’ Food Basics in Hanmer before retiring a second time in 2012. Gérald was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, gardening and hunting but he was happiest when surrounded by his family. In keeping with Gérald’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at Ste-Marguerite D’Youville Church in Val Thérèse on Saturday, September 30th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to take place at the Cooperative Crematorium. Cher père de Pierre Harrison (Susanne Leffler) de Wanup, Suzanne Harrison de Val Caron et Lorianne Sepp (Jeff) de Mount Albert. Pépère spécial de Maya et Ava Sepp et Tom Harrison. Lui survivent aussi autres jeunes amis qui l’on appelé « Pépère » ou « Oncle ». Cher beau-frère d’Edith Gionet (Wilfred), Edouard Doiron, Romeo Doiron, Irene Doiron (Pierre Leyraud), Albertine Duguay (Pierre) et Aldoria Doiron (Lynda). Prédécédé par ses belles-sœurs Léona Doiron et Jeannine Gionet (Valmond). Il sera également regretté par son filleul Maurice Doiron, sa filleule Nicole Glassford ainsi que par plusieurs cousins. Gérald était gérant de différents départements du A&P sur la rue Pine à Sudbury et finalement gérant des produits chez le magasin A&P à Espanola jusqu'à sa retraite en 2000. Il a continué à travailler à temps partiel au Food Basics Desjardins à Hanmer avant de se retirer une deuxième fois en 2012. Gérald était un pêcheur passionné, il aimait aussi le camping, le jardinage et la chasse, mais il était plus heureux lorsqu'il était entouré de sa famille. À la demande de Gérald, il n’y aura aucune visite. Un service commémoratif aura lieu le samedi 30 septembre 2017 à 10 h à la Paroisse Ste-Marguerite d’Youville, Val Thérèse. L’incinération aura lieu au Crématoire de la Coopérative.
