In Loving Memory of Martynas “Martin” Kupris 90 years Born July 7th, 1927. Passed peacefully Thursday, August 31st, 2017 at Finlandia Village, Sudbury with loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Jeannine (Ducharme) Kupris and predeceased by Isabel (Desrochers) 1994. Loving father of Alisa D’Angelo (husband Rick), Pamela Miller predeceased, and stepson Jacques Lefebvre (wife Carin). Cherished grandfather of Brenden, Tyler, Chloe, Andre, and Jean-Jacques “J.J.”. Dear son of Martynas and Veronika (Gasiliunaite) Kupris both predeceased. Dear brother of Regina and Irena both predeceased. Special brother in law to Lorraine Ethier (husband Harvey predeceased), Frank Ducharme predeceased (wife Diane), Monique Ethier (husband Conrad predeceased), Mike Ducharme predeceased, Bob Ducharme (wife Doris) and Marcel Ducharme predeceased. Born and raised in Lithuania, Martin moved to Canada in 1949, settling in Sudbury in 1952. He was a millwright at INCO, retiring in 1988 with 35 years of service. He enjoyed travelling and camping on Manitoulin Island. He had an appreciation for the beauty of nature. He was an accomplished Mr. Fix-it, an avid reader, and created amazing needlepoint works in his later years. Martin will be remembered for his determination and jovial nature. He had an amazing attention to detail, a wonderful kindness and thoughtful insights. The family expresses their appreciation to Monique Ethier for her dedication and also to Finlandia Village staff for their compassionate care and for making him feel at home. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call 2-4; 6-8pm Friday and after 9am Saturday) Funeral Prayers in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Saturday, September 2nd, 2017 at 10am Interment in the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Finlandia Village SISU Foundation would be appreciated.
