In Loving Memory of William “Billy” Gagnon 85 years Peacefully, Monday, July 17th, 2017 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of 49 years of Julia Alice Gagnon (nee Affi) predeceased August 3, 2009. Loving father of Suzanne and Andrew (Bob), both of Toronto. Dear son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Leach) Gagnon both predeceased. Dear brother of Betty Morrow, Barbara Gagnon, Doris Fournier, Earl Gagnon, and Alan Gagnon. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews Debbie, Kathy, Ron, Graham, Kristine, and Karen and their families. A life resident of Waters Twp, he worked at INCO, retiring in 1991 with 43 years’ service. He was a volunteer firefighter with Water #1 Station for 32 years and a Mine Rescue volunteer for 30 years. He was a founder and faithful donor to the Walden Blood Donor Clinic. An avid gardener, his green thumb produced beautiful flowers and bountiful vegetables. At age 70, he became an inspired artist, specializing in outdoor scenes and wildlife. A faithful member of Trinity United Church, Lively, he participated in the church’s ministries and fellowship celebrations and events. He was a published author and well-respected historian for local communities. The light of his life will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Billy can echo the words of St. Paul to Timothy: “I fought the good fight. I finished my course and kept the faith.” In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity United Church Lively Memorial Fund or the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 4-8pm Thursday only). Funeral Service in Trinity United Church, Lively Friday, July 21st, 2017 at 11am. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Waters Cemetery.
