Born February 20th, 1943 in Cadillac, Quebec; son of Anthony and Ardellus (Sweet) both predeceased. Loving husband of Mary “Marie” (MacDonell) Bardswich. Loving father of Mark (Colleen Colden predeceased), David (Amber Kealy), and John. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Jessica, Colin, Ciaran, Ronan, and Rory. Dear brother of Amy (William Curran predeceased), and dear brother in law of Frank MacDonell, Don and Carole MacDonell, James MacDonell (predeceased), and Maurice MacDonell. Loved by many relatives across North America and Europe. Missed by close friend Henry Snow (predeceased). Bill grew up in Quebec, Cape Breton Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. He worked in the mines in Newfoundland, Cape Breton, Quebec, and Ontario, where he was a mining contractor who worked for MacIsaac Mining, Dynatec Mining Limited, and Raise Contracting. He was a development/raise/shaft miner who climbed the ranks to mine captain, overseeing major challenging mine development projects. Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren and attended their school and sporting events. He was a dedicated life member of Falconbridge/Garson Legion Branch 336. Memorial Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church Garson Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 at 10am. (Friends may gather at the church after 9:30am Wednesday). Following the Mass, everyone is welcome to join the family at the Falconbridge Legion for a reception. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Falconbridge Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
