On Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 6:30 a.m., Rene at the age of 50 years passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Survived by his wife of 27 years Christine (nee Huard) of Hanmer. Loving father of Richard (Sandra) of Chelmsford, Natalie and Stephanie (Darryl) both of Hanmer. He is also survived by his first granddaughter Andrea (Richard and Sandra’s daughter). He will be missed by his bowling family and his closest friends Moe (Kelly) Beaudoin and Richard (Peggy) Lavallee and his grandmother Therese. Special uncle to many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his dog who he loved very much, Goldie (2015). Survived by his mom Claudette and brother Jarrett. Rene was involved in many organizations from bowling to racing. Rene loved coaching children and adults and made quite a few nationals individually, as a teammate and for just being a coach that he truly enjoyed. He accomplished two bronze medals for singles in bowling for the open across Canada. He has a POA gold medal at a national level and coached the youth challenge nationals. He worked as a master mechanic at Cambrian Ford, Belanger Ford, and most recently with DMC Mining Services, where he enjoyed being a shop foreman going across Canada and the United States with Steve and others. Oh the memories he would share when he would come back especially the football game “oh my”. Rene loved being with his family, camping, cooking, fishing and just being around him to hear stories and laughter around the fire. You never knew what he would do or think if you needed a hug or a shoulder to cry on, he was there with open arms. He was a great role model to be around. I am truly going to miss my best friend but Rene just to let you know I will be taken care of by our children and my family especially my bowling family. Thank you for being by my side until we meet again my true love. There will be no service but a Celebration of Buddha’s Life will be held at a later date. Thank you sincerely the Godin family, hugs and kisses. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. Online condolences can be posted at www.RangersSudbury.com
