In Loving Memory of Sir Knight Oliva “Oliver” Joseph Charbonneau 84 years Peacefully, Thursday evening, February 2nd, 2017 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Beloved husband of 63 years to Jeanne (nee Henry) Charbonneau. Loving father of Monique (Paul Robinson), Gerard (Susan), Gisèle (Larry Blanchette), Claudette (Allan McDavid), Michèle (François Gour) and Denis (Ronalda). Proud Pépère to Jennifer (Shawn) (Jason Vatcher deceased), Jason (Julie), Tina, Victor, Andrée (Jeff), Luc (Mireille), Gilles (Manon), Carter (Courtney), Avery (Katelyn), Emily, Emily Lynn (Aaron), Nicholas, Brittnee (D.J.) and great grandchildren Catherine, Victoria, Daniel, Cole, Angelique, Jared, Morgan, Paige, Clara deceased, Alyssa, Haylee, Chance, Chloé, Sophie, Callie, Christelle, Brielle, Mika, Mathieu, Émilie, Rory, Ayden, Oliver, Everett, Isabella, Abygale deceased, Scarlett, Maci-Grace deceased, Jackson and Sophia. Predeceased by his parents Victor and Laurencia (nee Dubois) Charbonneau. Dear brother of Marie Jones (Roland deceased), Borice (Lucille), Placide (Laila), Jeanne (Bob McFarlane), Carmelle, Thérèse (Jacques Desjardins), Gaëtanne (Danny Belleville), and predeceased by Allan and his wife Elsie, Madeleine and André Laforest, Denise, Jules, Jacqueline and baby sisters Marie and Madeleine. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Oliva was born and raised in Hanmer. He married Jeanne in Garson in 1953 and worked as a miner at Falconbridge Ltd. for over 33 years retiring in 1984. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus Hanmer Assembly he was a Past Faithful Navigator in 4th degree. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and carpentry. His family was his priority and he loved being surrounded by them. Oliva leaves a rich legacy of love, faith and devotion and will be sadly missed. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel 4605 Michelle Drive at Hwy. 69 N. Hanmer (FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 2-4 AND 7-9PM SUNDAY Prayer service under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus Hanmer Assembly #5005 at 8pm Sunday) Funeral Mass celebrated in St Jacques Church 46 Cote Blvd. Hanmer Monday, February 6th, 2017 at 11am Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium, Sudbury Interment of his cremains in the Garson Cemetery. Donations in memory of Oliver to masses at a church of your choice would be appreciated.
