Our family and friends are grieving the loss of Alfred Pella, husband to Joan for almost 60 years. Alfred was known to most of us as Fred and to his Italian friends as Fredo. He left sons Christopher and wife Linda, Michael and wife Melanie, their son Carter, son Timothy and the father-in-law to our beloved late Jan. Fred was born in Italy in 1935, youngest son of the late Tomaso Pella and late Marianna Pella (née Pilot). He was predeceased by his siblings Rudy, Bruno, Noemi and Antoinette. Fred was a field supervisor for the architectural firm of Townend Stefura and Baleshta for 35 years. Fred was especially involved in the construction of many of our great Sudbury landmarks including Science North, Health Sciences North, Laurentian University and several government buildings. Fred has loved soccer, books, art, music, gardening, good food, wine and his family. We loved him very much. In keeping with Fred’s wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory to the Trans Canada Trail Foundation or Nature Conservancy of Canada can be made by cheque or online at www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
