Ransom, E. Shirley (Daoust-Landriault)

It is with heavy hearts we say ""sleep in heavenly peace"" to a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who peacefully passed at her residence, December 11th, 2016, with loved ones by her side. Born Shirley Anne Daoust, April 13, 1946 Blind River, Ontario. Adopted daughter of Florence Spencer and Alphonse Landriault (both previously deceased) and step-daughter to Wilbert Spencer of Sudbury. She is survived by her loving and supporting spouse, Douglas Sr. Children to Doug (Jr.), Donna Ransom (Brian), Cheryl Lagace (Wayne), Lana Thompson (Brett), Kyla Cottam (Kevin). Shirley was proudest of her children whom she loved immensely. Along with her five loving children came her beautiful grandchildren, Shandi, Shane and Brandon (known as their 'Doodaloo'), Scott & Ayla, Cole & Kaitlyn and Alli & Paige. She was also a Great Grandma to Austin, Jasper & Lachlan. No occasion would go by without taking advantage of spoiling them with her famous 'buck store' bag of goodies, from Valentines to St. Patrick's Day, Easter to Halloween, there was a bag to be filled and delivered. Sister of Tim Spencer (Diane), Chantal Cyr, Terry McCann (Marj) and Randy McCann (Jean). Sadly missed by relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley had many hobbies/pastimes throughout her life such as ceramics, crocheting, bingo and most recent favorite, poker. Nothing could interfere with her weekly card night with the girls or it would have to be rescheduled! Cards 'trumped all'. She fought cancer on her terms and nothing was going to alter her quality of life. She was smart, caring, tenacious, and determined. She made many new friends at her Belfry residence, and we thank them all for being there for her. Special thanks to Allison, her Bayshore nurse who quickly became more then her nurse, but a dear friend. We celebrate this Christmas and every other in her memory. As per Shirley's request, there will be no service or visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Park Lawn Cremation Services Sudbury, Ontario. Donations to a children's charity of your choice is appreciated.
