Puro, J. Martin 'Marty'

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Martin John (Marty) Puro at the age of 78. Marty is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Linda Puro (nee Heino). Predeceased by his parents Hannah (nee Kolari) and Lauri Puro and brother Ray. Survived by his three sons Robert (Cheryl), Michael (Hillarey), and Gregory (Audrey). Lovingly remembered by his 6 grandchildren - Nora, Calvin, Jack, Michael (predeceased), Cameron and Elaine. Marty graduated from Michigan Tech University with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and returned to Sudbury to raise a family. He had a lengthy and distinguished career with INCO spanning nearly 40 years. He worked in all of the Milling Operations at one time or another and was especially proud of his work with Tailings Facility design and management. Many thanks to the special care Marty received from the wonderful staff over the past 6 months at St. Gabriel's Villa. Memorial Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, Thursday, October 6th, 2016 at 11:30am. Friends may call after 10:30am Thursday and are welcome to join the family after the service for a reception in the Fellowship Room. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, Arthritis Society, or Sick Kids Hospital (Toronto) would be greatly appreciated.
