In Loving Memory of Roger John Lahaie Born October 10th, 1947, passed away Thursday, August 25th, 2016 at the Maison Vale Hospice, Sudbury. Beloved husband of Tuula Lahaie (nee Makela). Loving father of Trevor (Jess Cretzman) and Brian (Mira Etlin-Stein). Cherished grandfather of Davida Aina. Dear son of Emilia and Nelpha Lahaie both predeceased. Dear brother of Liz (Steve Cvitkovich), Isabel (Ron Mihajic), Edmond (Nancy) and Jules (Karen) and predeceased by Louis and Claudette Logue. Will be sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews. Roger was born and raised in Levack and attended college in North Bay where he met and married Tuula. His pride and joys, Trevor and Brian, were born there. The family moved to Lively in 1981 to be closer to family and the camp on Windy Lake, which he built as a young man. Camp was Roger’s happy place and the whole family enjoyed the times spent there. His garage at camp was built after spending many hours cutting wood on his sawmill. For many years Roger worked as a corrections officer, retiring in 2006. During the winter months, he and Tuula travelled to Florida, where fishing expeditions were a highlight. Roger was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting with his good friends. He enjoyed being involved with the Sudbury Game and Fish Protective Association. In April of this year Roger and Tuula were blessed with their first grandchild, Davida Aina. Roger was also a compassionate animal lover and a true Jack-of-all-trades. His company and comic relief will be greatly missed by family and friends. Funeral Service in the R.J.
