In loving memory of Helen Crawford (nee Spencer) who passed away peacefully with family on Friday, July 22nd, 2016 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury at the age of 82 years. Beloved mother of Laura Crawford of Fort Erie, Julia Crawford of Sudbury, John Crawford of Fort Erie, Michael Crawford (predeceased) and Chris Crawford (wife Sandra) of Azilda. Dear grandmother of Aaron, Lauren, Tyler, Leanne, Alex and Cole and great-grandmother of Erica. Loving sister of Sheila Olesen (husband Ole predeceased) of Barrie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Helen was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on May 1st, 1934; the family moved to Toronto in the Forties where she spent the majority of her adult life raising her family and working for the Government. She moved to Northern Ontario when she retired first living in North Bay and finally settling in Sudbury. She will be greatly missed by everyone for her sarcastic sense of humour and her love of life and family. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, going to the movies and spending time with family. She was also a very talented amateur artist. Helen was a proud member of the CWL at St. Alexander’s Church. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass, to celebrate Helen’s life, will take place at St. Alexander’s Church in Chelmsford on Thursday, July 28th, 2016 at 11:00 am, following by a light lunch. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation, in her memory, would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements in care of Simple Wishes of the North. 705-470-7070
