It is with great sorrow that the Singbush family announces the passing of Sandra (Hutton) on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the age of 72. Beloved wife of 50 years of Alex Singbush predeceased. Loving mother of Alex (Rose), Michael, and Bruce (Peggy). Cherished Grandma and Meema of Emily, Marissa, Ben and Matthew. Devoted daughter of Emily Fera and Jim Hutton. Sadly missed sister of Monsignor James Hutton and sister-in-law of Catherine Singbush, Doug Singbush (Susan predeceased) and Nancy Fowler (John). Also mourned by her surviving aunt and uncle, many cousins, nieces and nephew. Sandra was generous, hospitable, welcoming and sensitive to the needs of others. Sandra had an enduring love of infants and children. A graduate of the Marymount School of Nursing, Sandra practiced at the Copper Cliff Hospital and Sudbury General Hospital before she embarked on her career with the Sudbury Infant Development Program devoted to serving special needs and at risk infants. A proud Creightonite, Sandra enjoyed reconnecting with friends and family at annual Creighton Mine reunions. In retirement, Sandra enjoyed involvement in the Lively Heritage Arts Guild, the Sudbury District Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, and the Sudbury Writers’ Guild. Sandra actively knitted, donating her work to infants here and abroad. Having taken comfort in the gift of a prayer shawl, Sandra reciprocated by providing similar gifts of comfort to others. Sandra spent many summer days on Manitoulin Island where she enjoyed evening drives looking for deer. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, 39 Walford Road, Sudbury on Thursday June 23, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. There will be no visitation. A reception will follow at the St. Patrick’s Parish Hall. Donations to the Inner City Home of Sudbury or the NEO Kids Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cooperative Funeral Home.
