NESTER, Nicholas

In Loving Memory of Nicholas Nester 95 years Saturday, April 30th, 2016 at his home in Sudbury, Ontario. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Dobrowolski) predeceased 2004. Loving father of Sharon Nester of Burnaby, BC, and Brenda Rienzo (Dan) of Duncan, BC. Cherished grandfather of Amy and Cory (Jamie) and great grandfather of Tyka, Kaden and Sienna. Dear brother of Frank, Anne, Helen , Eli (predeceased), Harry (predeceased) and Johnny (precedeased). Deeply missed by nephew Richard and very special friend Henriette Jermyn. Nicholas was a World War II veteran and bravely served in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Italy. He and Rose spent many summers at their cottage in Gogama, Ont, where they enjoyed good times with family and friends. Days and nights spent around the card table filled their hearts with love and laughter. Nicholas loved to tend to their garden that Rose spent much of her time with and they both loved to fish together. He also had a quiet hobby of painting and spent many hours doing puzzles. Nicholas loved his family, and nothing was as exciting as a sitting around waiting for a delicious home made meal prepared by Rose, especially perogies and holubtsi. He cared for his family and friends, and they were the ones lucky enough to witness his fantastic and wry sense of humor. Many thanks to the staff at Amberwood Suites for all of their help and support. At Nicholas’ request there will be no funeral visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
