In Loving Memory of Edward “Ed” Bielanski It is with profound sorrow we announce his passing at home surrounded by family at the age of 56 years after a year long battle with cancer. Beloved husband, soul mate and best friend of 31 years to Kathy (nee McHugh) Bielanski. Loved father of Ashley Hanna (Brodie), Dina predeceased and Karina (friend Sylvain). Cherished Dziadzu of Blake Hanna. Loving third son of Stanislaw and Krystyna (Brill) Bielanski predeceased. Dear brother of Stan Jr., Hank Sr. and Christopher predeceased. Dear son in law of Marg McHugh and the late Joe McHugh predeceased. Dear nephew of Alex Brill. Dear brother in law of Robert McHugh, Debbie Lahti (Wade) and Brenda Slywchuk (Mike). Special uncle of Henry Jr. (friend Kristin), Eryn (fiancé Shane), Samantha Bielanski, Rachael and Matthew Lahti, Olivia, Rebecca and Mikaela Slywchuk. Will be sadly missed by “Jack” (Duane Horeck) and extended family in Toronto and Poland. Ed was brought up in the Donovan and was very proud of his Polish Heritage. He played soccer for the Polish White Eagles. He travelled to Edmonton for work and later started at Denison Mines in Elliot Lake as a mechanic, then changing over to the electrical field becoming a Master Electrician. After the mines closed he worked at several companies in Sudbury. His final job until falling ill was with SCR Mining and Tunneling in Red Lake, Ontario which he loved working for and enjoyed the friendships he made along the way. Special thank you to Dr. Lopez, Dr. Matheson, Dr. Luison, Dr. Stirling, Dr. Long, neighbours, friends and co-workers for their care and compassion. Ed will be remembered for his wit and edgy humour and his trademark stylish hats. Funeral Prayers in the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury Saturday, January 30th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 P.M. Friday and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday)
