In Loving Memory of Lina Smith Burke (nee Marcotte) Age 69, passed away with her loving family at her side. Lina fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her loving, dearest friend and supporter, husband Robert Burke, her sons Steve (Diane) and Jim (Valerie). Grandmother to Steve Jr., Scott, Darcie, Bradey and Harper Smith. Sister of Conrad (Jeannine). Sister in law of Mathilda and Irene. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Step-mother to Sandra Burke, Cathie Gage (Bill) and Rob Burke. Step-grandmother to Kristopher, Kori, Caitline, Carlie, Peter, Thomas, Shawne and Miranda. Great grandmother to Isabel. Predeceased by husband Steve Smith and son Denis Tommy Smith, father Arthure Marcotte and Mother Lina Marcotte (nee Charlebois). Also predeceased by her brothers Paul-Emile, Claude, Nelson and Marcel and her sisters Cecilia and Yolland. Lina will be sadly missed and remembered for her gentle, caring nature and sincere friendship. Her loving husband holding her hand and caring every step of the way. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Debbie Kirkwood, Bea Predon, Cathy Williams, Linda Boileau, Helen and Andy Gobbo, Jerry and Liliane Frappier and Father J.P. Jolicoeur for being there for Lina in her times of need. Also a special thank you to Dr. Scott Young, Dr. Linda Tenhunen and all the staff and nurses in the chemotherapy room and the nurses from CCAC for all their tender loving care. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street (Friends may call 2:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Sunday) Memorial Mass to be held at St. Jean de Brebeuf Church, 26 Kathleen Street, Sudbury Monday, July 27th, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Jean de Brebeuf Church, Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
