In Loving Memory of Jesse Stewart Douglas Tait With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jesse Stewart Douglas Tait. He is survived by his loving wife, Katrina Tait, his two cherished sons, Lochlan Stewart Larson Tait and Watson Strong Douglas Tait and his wonderful mother, Jocelyn Ruth Tait. He is predeceased by his father, Stewart Allan Tait, and his grandparents, Altha and Claude Tait and Margaret and Ivan Douglas. He is survived, also, by his sister, Meredith Margaret Rose Smith (husband Ryan Smith), his loving in-laws, Shawn and Dave Larson, and his Brothers-in-law, Richard, Andrew, and Joseph Larson. Jesse will be missed by aunts, uncles and cousins throughout Canada. Jesse was born 19 April, 1980 in Sudbury, Ontario. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces on 08 January, 2002 and after completion of training, was posted to 2 PPCLI. Jesse deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2003 and again, as a sniper, to Afghanistan in 2008. Jesse was a vastly talented man with varied interests and accomplishments. He began biathlon training with the Walden Irish Army Cadet Corps and was a National Biathlon gold medalist from 1997-1999 in Valcartier, Quebec. He was named Brigade Soldier of the Year as a new member of the Second Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. More recently, he was promoted to Sgt and acted as the ‘2 PPCLI Bagpiper’ during the Battalion’s 100th Anniversary Celebrations. He was a private pilot, flying across Canada in the name of adventure, a Past Master at Brandon Lodge #19 and a member of Scottish Rite. Masonry was very dear to his heart and as such, there will be a Masonic Service Friday at 7 pm at Jackson and Barnard Chapel. Jesse was well-loved at work and at play. He was known for his mischievous smile and ability to make any situation lighter and happier. He was an ambitious, hard-working, natural leader with a penchant for adventure, who loved nothing more than spending time with his two young boys. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch St., Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5 & 7-9 pm Friday) Masonic Service under the auspices of the Friendship Lodge #691 AF & AM at 7pm Friday. Funeral Service at the Church of the Epiphany 85 Larch St., Sudbury Saturday, January 31st, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment in the Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lochlan and Watson’s Education Trust Fund.
