The family announces with deep sorrow the sudden passing of this good man after a brief illness. Joe was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of fifty-six years, Noreen (nee Benedetti), his daughter Michele and her husband Terry Caba. He was predeceased in 2013, by his beloved son Charles. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Caba (wife Allison) and Emilie Caba, as well as his delightful great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Ty and Brody who were his pot of gold at the end of life's rainbow. He is survived by his brothers Aime (wife Vivian) and Leo (wife Helen) and his sisters Francoise (husband Ugo Comacchio) and Martha (late husband Moe). He is pre-deceased by brothers Andre (late wife Frances) & Hector (wife Lorraine) and sister Margaret (husband Bill Core). Joe was an INCO retiree, a former Coniston Town Councillor and Lions Member & Past President. He was an esteemed, long time Coniston resident who was known for his infectious sense of humour, his engaging personality, his kind & generous nature, his legendary hospitality and his love of sports. Everyone knew they were welcome at any time into the warmth of his and Noreen's loving home. He was a kind and gentle husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Joe enjoyed his friendships with the Ntaganda family and his dear friend George Paradis. He will be greatly missed by his large family, his in-laws, his many special nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, etc., donations to the project to build a school in rural Rwanda Le Chemin de la lumière / Inzira y'Urumuri / Road to Enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.
