In Loving Memory of James Edward 1924-2014 and Margaret Maitland Wilson Griffin 1923-2014 James passed April 4, 2014 with Margaret joining him April 9, 2014 in Heaven after 66 years of marriage on Earth. Beloved parents of Richard James Griffin and precious in-laws to Nancy Lyn. Cherished grandparents of Zoe Grace Doran Griffin. James was predeceased by his parents James Thomas and Mabel (Devitt) Griffin, and Margaret by her parents John James and Elizabeth “Lillian” (Irvine) MacMenamin. James was the loving brother to William “Bill” Griffin and predeceased by George and Katherine “Kit” Griffin; Margaret was the sister to John “Jack” and James “Jim” MacMenamin, Isabella “Isobel” Robutka, Elizabeth “Betty” Calhoun and Kathleen “Kay” Giglio, all predeceased. They were the special aunt and uncle to Billy, Jimmy, Gerry, Mary, Janice, Steve, Tim, Jim, Mary, Roberta, Peter (predeceased), Doug, Gloria, Art, Angela, Toni and Michael and their families. A proud Canadian, James had served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II and he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. A celebration of their lives will be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Friends may gather in the chapel after 11 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James can be made to the Parkinson Foundation and in memory of Margaret to the Northern Cancer Foundation.
