MONTICELLI, Danilo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Husband, Dad and Nonno, Danny. He will forever be missed by his wife, Mary, and children and grandchildren: Dennis, (Betty Segger), Michael, Christina and Joey; Marisa, (Steve Robertson), Glen and Jenna; Leda, (Darcy MacLeod), Miranda and Melanie; Lara, (Vince Muscolino), Victoria and Sarah; and Danny Junior. He now joins his beloved parents, Elsa and Dante, and his sister Edda. Sadly missed by his brother-in-law Giovanni Silvaggi (predeceased October 20, 2013), his nephew, Eddy and nieces, Lisa, Laura and Cyra and their families in Windsor; many aunts, uncles and cousins in Italy; his sister-in-law, Rita and special nieces Marcella and Sabrina and their father, Renato Verrilli; and mother in law Rosina in Sudbury. The Monticelli family would like to thank the many support workers from Bayshore Home Health, and Valerie from CCAC for their compassion and patience in caring for Danny. We will also never forget the dedication and superb treatment he received from the medical staff at Health Sciences North. Special hugs go out to Todd, Krista, Lori, Erin, Dan, and Marilyn… too many to mention. Dr. Bill McMullen, words cannot begin to express our deep, heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to you for the medical support, and above all, for the compassion, commitment, and sincere friendship you have shown our Danny. Danny had an extensive circle of good friends. The Manitoulin Hunt Club and the Saturday D’Angelo Garage Group will miss Mr Presidente’s demonstrations of magic in the kitchen. A kind and distinguished man, he was deeply involved in the Italian community as an Italian language interpreter, past president of Club Montessori, and past president and general manager of the Caruso Club. In addition to this, he was a school board trustee, a board member of the Sudbury Multicultural Society, a founding member and general manager of Kelly Lake Building Supply and shared with us his culinary passion with his pasta e fagioli at his little project called Danilo’s Café and Deli. With all his great accomplishments, of which we are so proud, the one he was most proud of was his family. Whenever the 20 of us gathered together, we would always say, “Dad, look what you started…” A special smile, a special face, In our hearts, a special place, Memories are a gift to treasure, Ours of you, Danny, will last forever.
