MICHEL, Gilles With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Gilles Ronald Michel, 71 years young. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his babies, family, and friends. Husband to Lorraine (Legault). Father to Lynn (Dave), Gisèle (Darrin), and Maria (Dan). Grandfather to Sabrina, Calvin, Robert, and Gillian. Son of the late Louis Michel and Irène (Ducharme). He leaves behind seven sisters, a brother, several sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many very good friends. Gilles was a hard working farmer for years, and a dedicated Hoist-Operating Engineer with Local 793, Sudbury. He enjoyed collecting things and tinkering in his garage; the items that he collected and built were often used to help others that were in need. Thank you to all of the people that were involved in his care. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St-Joseph St, Hanmer on Friday, September 6th, 2013 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
