JOHNSEN, Halvor Knute John - The family of Halvor Knute John Johnsen regrets to announce Hal, as he preferred to be called, passed away peacefully in his 80th year at the Victoria Hospital in London after a long and courageous battle with diabetes and kidney disease. Hal is survived by his wife of 56 years Theresa (Carrier) and his children Christopher (Janet) of Newmarket, JoAnne (Scott Amos) of Maple and Eric (Lise) of Owen Sound and by his grandchildren, Jade, Mary, Michael, Ann, Hunter, Talon & Aysia. Hal spent most of his working career in Sudbury with Revenue Canada. After retiring he & Terri moved to Owen Sound and finally London. At Hal's request there was a private funeral in London which was followed by cremation. The family will celebrate Hal's life with a memorial service planned for the New Year. For those who wish to do so, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. The family would also like to thank and acknowledge at this time the efforts, dedication, and kindness demonstrated by all of his doctors, nurses, and Victoria Hospital staff over the past many years-thank you.
