She was born in Robinson Township, daughter of the late Archibald and Minerva (Groves) Duncanson. Lena had a very interesting life. She worked as a telephone operator in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1929 when the Stock Market crashed, making for an interesting time. She had cooked at sawmill and timber camps and worked on the farm as well. Lena and her husband Charles owned the General Store in Silver Water from 1942 until 1962, and lived at the store until 1971, when they moved to the farm and continued living there until she moved to Espanola. She had been a member of the Women's Institute and the Eastern Star for many years. She also played piano and played the organ at her church. She enjoyed making afghans and knitting and had bowled for many years. She also took up line dancing later on in life. Lena got the travel bug and had traveled North America coast to coast and spent a few winters in Florida. Lena loved her family dearly and kept in touch with them and friends, keeping the phone lines busy by talking on the telephone. She will be missed, but many wonderful memories of a wonderful lady will be cherished. Lena was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles, May 11, 1982. Loving and loved mother of Leland and Pat Trick of Spring Bay, Marjorie and Roger Bell of Espanola and Max and Linda Trick of Sault Ste. Marie.
