FERGUSON, Maureen Anne (nee Johnson) - In loving memory of Maureen Anne Ferguson (nee Johnson), 70 years of age, of Sudbury, who passed away Saturday, December 5th, at Maison Vale Inco Hospice, with her husband and children by her side. Beloved wife for 50 years, of Hugh Ferguson. Loving mother of Linda Ferguson (predeceased), Karen Ferguson (husband Gordon Krelove) of Abu Dhabi (UAE), Peter Ferguson (wife Helen) of Sudbury, Joanna Brown (husband Bart) of Parry Sound. Cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren: Laura, Emily, Maureen, William, Elizabeth, and Sophie. Dear daughter of Eno Johnson (predeceased) and Tyyne Johnson (Lane) of Thunder Bay. Sister of Eileen Smylie (husband Jim) of Barrie, Judy Kwasny (husband Larry- predeceased and husband Verne Astrom- predeceased) of Thunder Bay, John Johnson (wife Dionnie) of Thunder Bay, and Kathy Leveille (husband Pierre) of Rothesay, NB. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Maureen was an avid reader and firmly believed in education. She spent countless hours reading with her children and grandchildren. Maureen enjoyed exercising at the Sudbury YMCA, flower gardening, biking, snowshoeing, hiking and canoeing in the interior of Killarney Provincial Park. Her greatest joy was being with her family and grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a quiet woman of great strength and courage, who put the needs of her family before her own. Maureen is also fondly remembered for her creativity, the ongoing exploration of new pursuits, and a commitment to affecting change in her community. She was a delightful woman, a genuinely great grandma, and a brilliant role model. At Maureen's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation will take place at the Park Lawn Crematorium in Sudbury. A Celebration of Life for Maureen will be held in the summer of 2010.
