BROWN, Dewey Loyd - In loving memory of Dewey Loyd Brown, 90 years, who passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 5th, 2009 at his residence. Born in Deux Rivieres, Ontario, Dewey married Marion (Bankie) in 1946 in Sudbury. He had been a cagetender at INCO retiring in 1975 as a member of the INCO 1/4 Century Club. A proud Canadian, he served in the Canadian Army during WWII in the 1st Division in Europe and the Mediterranien with 5 yrs. Service. He was a member of the War Pensioners of Canada, the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #76 and he had been a commissioner for 10 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies on Manitoulin Island and outings with his family. He was an honourary member of the Sudbury Fish and Game Association. He drove school bus for the Sudbury Board of Education and later purchased his own van. He helped transport mentally challenged youth to school. A man of faith, he was devoted to his loving family and he can echo St. Paul's words “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.“ Beloved husband of Marion (Bankie) Brown. Loving father of Richard, Ronald (wife Sandra), John “Jack“ (wife Lynda), Wayne (wife Debra) and Kathryn “Kathy“ (husband Mike Ainsworth). Cherished Grampa of Sharon, Kevin, Cindy, Lisa, David, Sarah, Jamie predeceased, Stephen, Tracy, Melissa and Sheldon and 7 great grandchildren. Dear son of Joseph and Agnes Brown predeceased. Loving brother of Gerald (Beatrice) both predeceased, Gordon predeceased (Bernie), Rawley predeceased (Grace), Amelia (Auley) both predeceased, Mae (Des) both predeceased, Marg (Wally) both predeceased, Faye (Andy), Shirley (Doug predeceased), Arthur (Evelyn), predeceased and Russell. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and canine buddy Harley. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Dr. Hanmer Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at 11 a.m. Cremation with interement in the family plot at the Capreol Cemetery. Donations to St. James in the Valley United Church would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday).
