NOSICH, Maria - In Loving Memory of Maria Nosich October 21, 1925 - December 3, 2009. Peacefully left this world on December 3rd 2009 in Sudbury at the HRSRH - St Joseph's Site, Maria Nosich (nee Frankic) was born in Lovrec Croatia in 1925. She lived in Scherding Austria for seven years, where she married Marijan, her first love and husband of 63 years. They settled in Sudbury in 1951 to build a new life amongst the many other immigrants in the Donovan. Maria was a talented seamstress, gardener, cook, needlepointer, and knitter. She was fiercely devoted to her family and known by many for her sharp wit, her big heart, and her incredible work ethic. Loving mother of Miriam McDonald, Bradley (wife Sheila), Frank (wife Susan), Kathy (husband Christopher Pluch), and predeceased by daughter Biserka and son Joseph. Cherished Bubi of Julia, Evan and Jeremy. Dear daughter of Ikan and Iva Frankic (predeceased). Dear sister of Peter Frankic (wife Ana) and Bosiljka Sterpin (predeceased by Ben). Maria made numerous friends during her many years working in the cafeteria at General Hospital and as a school crossing guard on Frood Road. She was an active member of Sveti Marko Croatian Church and a 40-year member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Women's League. She enjoyed her seasonal trips to Florida with her family and friends she made around the pool. Her fighting spirit carried her through a difficult illness that almost took her life two years ago. The precious legacy that she leaves is the capacity for understanding, perseverance and profound devotion.
